The PAAL International Conference, organized by the Pan-Pacific Association of Applied Linguistics, will take place at Korea University in Seoul, Korea, from August 21-22, 2024.
The conference theme is “The Evolving and Changing Status of English in the World.” Dr. Andrew Moody from the University of Macau will be a keynote speaker, with another to be announced. Originally a collaboration between PAAL Japan and PAAL Korea, the conference has grown to attract global researchers and practitioners.
Abstract submissions are welcomed in all areas of applied linguistics, including language acquisition, TESOL, language and culture, pedagogy, theoretical linguistics, text analysis, language and technology, psycholinguistics, language testing, sociolinguistics, language policy, and World Englishes. Research on any language is accepted, although English is the conference language.
