The 26th World Energy Congress marked a pivotal moment for global leadership in clean and inclusive energy transitions, aiming to reshape energy systems for the benefit of both people and the planet.
Against the backdrop of escalating energy insecurity and the worsening impacts of climate change, there’s a pressing need to translate net-zero aspirations into tangible actions. Dr. Angela Wilkinson, Secretary General and CEO of the World Energy Council, emphasizes the importance of understanding diverse energy systems in creating a safe operating space for humanity and involving communities in inclusive implementation.
As the world’s longest-standing energy event, the Congress convened a diverse array of stakeholders, including over 200 C-suite speakers, 70 Ministers, and nearly 4,000 international energy stakeholders. With a focus on redesigning energy for people and planet, the Congress features a robust content program, world-class exhibition, and extensive networking opportunities.
Hosted by the World Energy Council and the Netherlands Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy from April 22-25, 2024, this edition commemorated the Council’s 100th anniversary and aims to drive action towards cleaner, fairer, and more inclusive energy transitions worldwide.
