The Ministry of Tourism (MoT) in India has launched the ‘Visit India Year 2023’ initiative to boost tourism in India. The campaign will target traditional markets like the US, Canada, Europe, the UK, and the Middle East and focus on new markets in Japan and Latin America.
The initiative aims to showcase India’s cultural richness and diversity to over 1 lakh foreign delegates attending the G20 meetings across India’s 55 locations. The campaign will emphasize rural tourism, sustainable tourism, and the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) segment to make India more business-ready. The budget allocated for tourism this year is INR 2400 crore, and we hope that each foreign delegate will become a brand ambassador for Indian culture and tourist destinations in their home countries. As part of the campaign, the ‘Incredible India’ brand will be leveraged with a reimagined website, enhanced global social media outreach, and a signature newsletter. The MoT also plans to improve the hospitality and management skills of the local population, especially the youth who will interact with inbound tourists. This will be discussed during the 1st G20 Tourism Working Group Meeting in Gujarat.
Moreover, the MoT aims to develop 50 selected destinations as comprehensive tourism packages for domestic tourism. These destinations will receive focused attention and support from various central government schemes and programs to ensure holistic development.‘Visit India 2023’ initiative to promote domestic and international tourism Incredible India, Ministry of Tourism, India, G20 India, Narendra Modi, ICPB – India Convention Promotion Bureau, Meeting Professionals International, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. #g20india #g20summit2023 #visitindia #incredibleindia #indiatourism #meetingprofs #convention #eventprofs
