The 12th edition of IMEX America opened at Mandalay Bay, featuring a diverse gathering of global buyers and suppliers. The event showcased the immediate business value of industry collaboration, with attendees eager to engage in various business activities. Notably, a sales kick-off meeting for 2025 was inquired about within minutes of the event’s commencement. Contacts were also spontaneously made, leading to discussions about a medical association event in 2026. The show’s initial thirty minutes saw numerous unscheduled visitors providing verbal commitments and defining the next steps, illustrating the robust business focus of the event.
The event’s learning program, comprising 150 sessions, aimed to enhance the meetings taking place. The Meetings Outlook survey by MPI underscored the sector’s scale, with a significant portion of job creation in the leisure and hospitality industry. Challenges faced by meeting professionals, such as budgeting and cost management, were discussed, emphasizing the need for creative cost-effective solutions.
Additionally, event professionals were exposed to innovative approaches, like design thinking, to tackle the complexities in stakeholder relationships and improve event outcomes. Rituals, as showcased by Transformation Coach Maya Jaguar, were explored as a means to reinvigorate events, fostering better human connections and shared business benefits.
