Vincent Lim, President of the Asian Federation of Exhibition and Convention Associations (AFECA), envisions the A20 as the “G20 of the business events world.” The forum, organized by AFECA, included the AFECA AGM, the AFECA Asian MICE Awards & Gala Dinner, and the AFECA Asia MICE Youth Challenge. Emphasizing unity and collaboration, the event aimed to address key issues collectively and amplify the industry’s voice. Key themes included facilitating ease of doing business, enhancing manpower and sustainability, and providing business event updates.
The Bangkok Declaration, unveiled at the forum’s conclusion, encapsulated these goals. The event, attended by representatives from various trade organizations and regional government bodies, is poised to expand its membership to 20 countries in 2024. Multiple member countries have expressed interest in hosting the A20 forum in 2024.
