The Plant Tissue Culture Association (India) (PTCA (I)) aims to provide a platform for students, researchers, and scientists to present their work and exchange views on recent developments in plant science. For over four decades, PTCA (I) has facilitated this unique opportunity through annual gatherings of scientists. Comprised of 90 esteemed members, including pioneers and established experts in plant tissue culture, the association invites aspirants to present their work at annual meetings, where new members are selected through votes.
Each annual meeting features a three-day symposium on a plant tissue culture theme, attracting around 400 delegates from academia, industry, and research institutions. This event fosters the exchange of achievements and views in the field.
The Association’s objectives include facilitating information exchange and coordination among plant cell, tissue, and organ culture workers through meetings, conferences, and scientific newsletters. PTCA (I) aims to address practical plant tissue culture issues, collaborate with international specialists, and represent Indian research on a global stage. Additionally, the association promotes basic and applied research, makes recommendations to strengthen key research areas, and maintains liaison with other professional organizations, such as the International Association for Plant Tissue Culture.
