The bureau aims to entice international organizations, particularly within the association sector, by providing customized support throughout event planning and execution.
Under the slogan “The City is Your Venue,” Antwerp’s proactive marketing seeks to distinguish the city’s adaptability, ensuring each event aligns with the organizers’ specific requirements. Vice Mayor Koen Kennis expressed enthusiasm for Antwerp’s representation on the global business events stage, echoing the sentiment that the city’s welcoming and approachable character aligns well with the new strategy.
The preview at IBTM garnered attention from international associations and the press. Gerard Lebeda from the International Society for Urban Health praised Antwerp’s plans for personalized services, foreseeing success in standing out amidst competitive markets. Antwerp Convention Bureau’s efforts have already led to significant event bookings, projecting over 20 large events in the next three years and attracting more than 21,000 attendees to the city. Additionally, several entities, including hotels and event spaces, joined the bureau at IBTM to showcase Antwerp’s diverse offerings and collaborative spirit.
