ASAE introduced its new leaders and ASAE Research Foundation Boards of Directors during the closing general session of ASAE’s 2023 Annual Meeting & Exposition in Atlanta. The newly appointed leaders will begin their roles on September 1, 2023.
The ASAE Leadership Committee selected the officers and directors for these boards. The committee considered various factors, such as how well the candidates aligned with ASAE’s strategy, how they represented their organizations’ members, and their commitment to diverse representation, like geography, association size, career level, gender, identity, ethnicity, skills, and areas of expertise.
The incoming officers for ASAE include Lynda Bouchard Patterson, President and Owner of AMPED Association Management, as the Chair of the Board; Heidi Brock, President and CEO of the American Forest & Paper Association, as the Chair-Elect and Chair of the ASAE Research Foundation; Jay Karen, CEO of the National Golf Course Owners Association (NGCOA), as the Secretary-Treasurer; and Lakisha Ann Woods, CEO of the American Institute of Architects, as the Immediate Past Chair. Other leaders selected are Kimberly G. Napolitano, Mary Wheatley, Arthur C. Evans Jr., Jason Oxman, and Johnnie White.
Lynda Bouchard Patterson expressed her honor in becoming Chair of the ASAE Board of Directors, saying, “I’m especially honored to be the first chair from the State of Wisconsin and only the third AMC owner to lead this prestigious organization in its 100-year history.” She emphasized her excitement about amplifying associations, enhancing their brand, and developing the workforce.
