The ASSICON 2024, hosted by the Bombay Spine Society in Mumbai, India, took place from January 18th to January 21st, 2024. This prestigious event featured a diverse array of academic activities, including five cadaveric workshops and live surgery sessions on January 21st. With over 1000 delegates, 200 faculty members, and representatives from more than 100 companies in attendance, ASSICON 2024 proved to be a significant academic gathering in spine surgery.
Themed “MINIMAL INVASIVE SPINE SURGERY – past present, future & beyond,” the conference explored various aspects of minimally invasive techniques, including tubular micro endoscopic and anterior approaches. International faculty provided comprehensive insights through hands-on experiences, round table discussions, and case-based sessions. The role of minimally invasive spine surgery in addressing infections, trauma, tumors, and deformities was highlighted, along with discussions on patient selection and the importance of conventional surgery.
The event also featured interactive workshops, instructional lectures, and cultural evenings, showcasing the hospitality of the Bombay Spine Society and providing an enriching academic and social experience for attendees.
