From July 2nd to 6th, 2023, the 59th Meeting of the Association for Tropical Biology and Conservation (ATBC) took place in Coimbatore, India. Hosted by the Indian Regional Association for Landscape Ecology (IRALE) and Kumaraguru Institutions (KI), the event welcomed delegates and participants.
Coimbatore, nestled in the Western Ghats, and renowned for its biodiversity, provided a vibrant multicultural setting. The conference conducted a variety of symposia, workshops and post-conference tours.
The conference aimed to delve into the options and opportunities for balancing science, conservation, and society in the realm of tropical biodiversity, showcasing India’s leadership in these domains across diverse biogeographic zones.
