The 2023 Business Events Consumer Demand Project (CDP) provides insights into the factors influencing decision-makers in the association and incentive sectors when selecting event destinations.
The research reveals that association and incentive sectors are returning to normal, with over 90% of decision-makers organising events in the past year, marking a 32% increase from 2022. Despite global uncertainties and financial factors affecting short-term confidence, 90% of decision-makers plan to maintain or increase their budgets compared to pre-COVID times.
Australia remains a highly appealing event destination, ranked number one for incentives across 22 attributes, including business facilities, value for money, and safety. For association decision-makers, Australia’s perception has improved in many areas, and there is an increased intent to plan events in Australia in the next two years.
Also, the outlook for the Australian business events industry is positive, reflecting an increase in applications and event conversions through initiatives like the Business Events Bid Fund Programme.
