Belgrade, Serbia, emerged victorious in the bid for the prestigious BIE’s Specialized Expo 2027. The final presentation of the Expo concluded today in Paris, marking the end of a complex and competitive process. After four rounds of voting at the 172nd General Assembly of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), Belgrade secured 81 votes, surpassing Malaga, Spain, which received 70 votes in the final round.
Congratulations are in order for the other candidate destinations, including Phuket, Thailand; Malaga, Spain; Bariloche, Argentina, and Minnesota – USA, who participated in the bidding process.
For Belgrade, this victory signifies the beginning of their event journey as they prepare to host the global Expo. Meanwhile, the other candidate destinations that did not secure the bid will swiftly initiate the evaluation and debrief process to determine if they will bid again in the future.
