Bella Center Copenhagen, a renowned Danish congress and event venue, prioritizes responsible hospitality and sustainability, focusing on solar power, environmental commitments, and science-based targets. These aspects, integral to Bella Center and its parent company Bellagroup’s overarching strategy, were showcased at the PCMA Convening EMEA 2023 summit in a spatial installation, highlighting the venue’s dedication to inspiring change.
Director Gemma Strutt emphasizes sustainability as an ongoing journey rather than a race to be won. Bella Center aims to engage guests and clients in conversations about shaping a responsible event landscape.
Key initiatives include unveiling a massive solar panel park on the venue’s roof by 2023, providing one-third of its electricity needs—a significant step towards becoming the largest solar park on the Zealand island.
The venue also joins Copenhagen’s ‘Planet Copenhagen’ initiative, committing to five sustainable tourism objectives. Furthermore, Bellagroup, as the first Danish event and hospitality organization, pledges to science-based targets, aiming for net-zero emissions by 2050 and a 50% reduction by 2030, aligned with the Paris Agreement.
At IBTM World, Bella Center will be at stand H40, powered by Visit Denmark, showcasing these impactful sustainability endeavors.
