Since Covid, BMA House has seen a huge rise in filming and photography inquiries, attracting big names like Netflix, Apple TV, Amazon Prime, BBC, and ITV.
Kat Winfield, the Venue Manager at BMA House, explained that before 2020, they had occasional requests to use their beautiful building and gardens for filming. Realizing its potential, they focused on creating specialist packages, marketing materials, and a dedicated sales team. This effort led to 50 inquiries worth £750k and nine confirmed bookings last year, including several high-profile shows.
Located in central London, BMA House is a Grade II listed building designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens, rich in history and surrounded by iconic landmarks. It offers excellent transport links and a variety of filming spaces, such as The Courtyard, Garden, Great Hall, and Prince’s Room, as well as an impressive facade.
Cécile Howard, Assistant Location Manager for Netflix’s “The Diplomat,” praised BMA House as a fantastic location with diverse filming spaces. She highlighted the helpfulness and responsiveness of the Events team, on-site security, and facilities management during their shoot. She highly recommends BMA House for filming and hopes to return for future projects.
BMA House offers additional benefits for filming, including exclusive access, convenient parking, secure storage, flexible spaces, efficient logistics, power availability, and catering services.
Tom Mellish from Bad Wolf Studios, who worked on “Red Eye,” called the Courtyard and Courtyard Garden at BMA House hidden gems in London for filming. He commended the events team for being clear, responsive, and patient with the fast-paced demands of the film and TV industry. He strongly recommends BMA House at Tavistock Square as a versatile filming location.
