Adelaide is set to host the PCOA (Professional Conference Organisers Association) Annual Conference in December, bringing together 450 business event professionals who manage events attracting over 160,000 attendees annually. This conference provides an opportunity for Adelaide to showcase its strengths as a business event destination and highlight its evolution into a vibrant hub of innovation and creativity.
PCOA Council Member Karen Sainsbury noted that Adelaide has maintained its boutique appeal while developing the infrastructure expected of a business event destination. Maxine Tod from the PCOA praised Adelaide’s cooperative spirit, stating that it is undoubtedly a business event city.
As part of the PCOA experience, Business Events Adelaide has organized post-event familiarization tours to new and redeveloped venues, innovation districts, and regions like the Adelaide Hills and Barossa Valley, offering insights into South Australia’s thriving business events ecosystem. Adelaide aims to demonstrate its environmental, cultural, and economic advantages to potential event planners.
