Mandy Nicholson, Dianne Smith, and Laureate Professor Eric Reynolds AO have been inducted into the prestigious Club Melbourne Ambassador Program at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC).
Mandy Nicholson, a respected Wurundjeri-Willam artist and Traditional Custodian, becomes the first Traditional Owner to join the program. Her work with Djirri Djirri, a Wurundjeri female dance group, showcases and preserves Aboriginal culture through dance, language, and community ceremonies.
Dianne Smith, CEO of the Industry Capability Network, brings extensive industry and government connections to the program. With previous executive roles at the Melbourne Chamber of Commerce and the Victorian Tourism Industry Council, Dianne enhances the program’s network.
Laureate Professor Eric Reynolds AO, CEO and Research Director of the Oral Health Cooperative Research Centre, adds his expertise in molecular biology and biochemistry to the cohort. His pioneering work has led to numerous patents and awards.
Clare Kellett, Club Melbourne Manager, expressed excitement at welcoming the new Ambassadors, emphasizing their diverse expertise and contributions to Melbourne’s cultural and economic growth.
The Club Melbourne program now consists of over 80 Ambassadors from various industries, working with the Melbourne Convention Bureau to secure conferences and events that promote Victoria as a leading knowledge destination. Together, the Ambassadors and MCB have secured over 160 international conferences, generating over $1 billion for Victoria’s economy.
