Central Vietnam, particularly Danang, is experiencing a surge in golf tourism and events. The Asian Golf Industry Federation (AGIF) Danang Conference, in its second edition, took place from August 28 to 31, 2023, at Sheraton Danang. The event emphasizes golf tourism, course development, and sustainability strategies under the theme “Development, Growth, and Opportunity”. It also featured a 54-hole event on the Asian Development Tour, the feeder circuit for the Asian Tour.
Adam Calver, Director of Golf & Destination Marketing at Laguna Lang Co., highlighted the remarkable recovery in golf tourism in Vietnam, particularly in Danang. Danang’s attractions include championship golf courses like Laguna Golf Lang Co and Ba Na Hills Golf Club, both of which have reported record visitor numbers this year.
Several major golf events and tournaments are contributing to the region’s golfing resurgence. These include the Faldo Series Asia Grand Final hosted by Sir Nick Faldo at Laguna Lang Co, the Lexus Cup’s return, and the 6th Cobra Puma Charity Pro-Am at Laguna Golf Lang Co. Ba Na Hills Golf Club will host the annual IMG Trophy Tournament. These events are bolstering Danang’s reputation as a top golfing destination in Asia, affirming its position in the global golf tourism landscape.
