by Events_India

The upcoming G20 Summit, hosted by India, is set to showcase a rich array of cultural heritage from all 29 participating nations. These heritage pieces and artefacts, symbolizing the diverse cultures of the member countries, will be a central focus during the summit. The Ministry of Culture in India has organized an exhibition of artwork from these nations, both in digital and physical forms, which will be housed in the second level of Bharat Mandapam, the main room of the G20 Summit.

Here are some prominent heritage items that will be on display:

  • Magna Carta: This historic royal charter, dating back to June 15, 1215, was agreed upon by King John of England at Windsor and laid the foundation for constitutional governance.
  • Panini Ashtadhyayi: An ancient linguistic text authored by Sanskrit scholar Paṇini around 500 BCE, it serves as a representation of India’s linguistic heritage.
  • Mona Lisa Painting: The iconic masterpiece by Leonardo da Vinci will be showcased, representing France.
  • Coatlicue Statue: A significant surviving Aztec sculpture standing at 8.3 feet in height, representing Mexico’s rich cultural heritage.
  • Gutenberg Bible: The earliest printed book, dating back to 1455, will be on display, symbolizing Germany’s contribution to printing technology.
  • Abrahamic Family House: This interfaith complex on Abu Dhabi’s Saadiyat Island signifies the values of unity and religious harmony.
  • Kosode: As a precursor to the kimono, the kosode represents Japan’s traditional clothing.
  • Fahua-lidded Jar: Originating from the Ming dynasty in China, this artefact showcases China’s historical craftsmanship.

These heritage items serve as a reminder of the shared history and cultural diversity among G20 nations, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and understanding on a global scale. The G20 Summit not only focuses on economic and political issues but also provides a platform to celebrate and promote the rich cultural tapestry of member countries.
