IBTM World, in its 2023 edition, taking place from November 28th to 30th, will focus on the role of event professionals in shaping culture and driving business. The venue of the event is Fira, Barcelona. The event will introduce new elements and a targeted education program to foster business culture and provide a space for growth and inspiration.
The revamped education program will feature five distinct areas: the Main Stage, Impact Stage, Workplace Revolution, ReFuel, and the Association Leaders’ Forum. The Impact Stage will debut as a showcase for sustainability, D&I, and experience design initiatives by destinations, hotels, and tech suppliers. The Business of Events will curate destination sessions, including the launch of the annual Global Destination Report, to offer fast-paced, value-driven case studies and best practices. Additionally, the Workplace Revolution will provide attendees with opportunities to connect with inspirational figures, including Main Stage speakers.
The event’s well-being hub is rebranded as ‘ReFuel,’ offering attendees a zen-like pod for relaxation, physical and mental recharge, sound and aromatherapy healing, and solo working areas. The Main Stage will feature inspiring figures from the events industry and beyond, addressing the latest trends through keynotes, panel debates, and game-changing research.
A new afternoon segment curated in partnership with experts from The Thought Partnership will focus on empowering marketing content. The 2023 edition has 60% of floor space already sold, surpassing 2019 levels and reflecting a positive outlook for the industry.
Notable attendees include major international associations, multinational corporations, exhibiting destinations, and event agencies. IBTM World’s event director, David Thompson, aims to showcase the true power of events and shine a spotlight on the #culturecreators behind them.
