IMEX collaborated with Cloverly, a leading climate action platform, to offer attendees the chance to purchase carbon credits from impactful sustainability projects. This initiative, available from IMEX Frankfurt 2024 onwards, targeted both buyers and exhibitors at IMEX Frankfurt and IMEX America. Attendees could log in to their IMEX accounts to view their estimated carbon footprints and opt to offset them by investing in various global carbon credit projects.
Participants could choose from three individual projects or the IMEX portfolio, which combined these options. All projects were vetted by Cloverly’s team of scientists for quality and risk. The IMEX blended portfolio facilitated donations across different projects, including an innovative biochar project, renowned as the ‘gold standard’ of carbon removal.
The featured projects included Novocarbo Biochar near Messe Frankfurt, an Indonesian peat swamp forest restoration by Katingan, and Uganda’s Trees for Global Benefit, a reforestation effort aiding rural communities.
