On November 15, the “International Forum on Sericulture Silk Industry Development Trend” took place in Lyon, France, organized by the International Silk Union (ISU), Silky Cities, and Silk in Lyon.
The forum brought together representatives from 16 countries and regions, with a focus on “Silk Sustainability” in the first half. Topics included research progress on Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) for silk products, the preservation of water resources in the French silk industry, and the internationalization of silk education.
The second half explored “Silk New Trends,” covering aspects such as industrialized sericulture, internationalization of silk education at ZSTU, and deciphering the mulberry genome. The event featured presentations from industry experts, including Prof. Xu Jianmei, Chiara Cappelletti, and Dr. Amit Kumar. Live comic illustrations summarizing the discussions were created by French fashion designer Arthur Hawkins.
