The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (The Centre) was awarded the title of Best Convention & Exhibition Centre at the Travel Trade Gazette’s Travel Awards 2023. These awards, honoring top performers in the Asia-Pacific travel sector, are determined by votes from travel industry professionals.
The center’s general manager, Mr. John Burke, received the award at the Thailand Centara Hotel ceremony. Additionally, The Centre received the Malaysia Partner Experience of the Year—Exhibition Center award from the Asian Experience Awards 2023. The Kuala Lumpur City Centre SDG precinct initiative, an ongoing project, aims to make the KLCC precinct the first SDG-compliant hub in Malaysia.
The Centre also excelled in the Culinaire Malaysia chefs’ competition, winning four gold, six silver, and six bronze medals and recognition in various categories. John Burke expressed delight at the significant recognition, emphasizing the dedication and professionalism of his team. The Centre previously won the “Best Managed Sustainable Property” award and the “Editor’s Choice Award—Malaysia’s Outstanding Specialized Development 2023” at The Edge Best Managed & Sustainable Property Awards (BMSPA) 2023 in July.
