The International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney), managed by ASM Global, has celebrated its charity clients at an inaugural appreciation luncheon, underscoring its commitment to philanthropy and social impact. In a year where charity and not-for-profit organizations generated at least AUD 7.1 million through events hosted at the venue for various causes, ICC Sydney demonstrated its dedication to making a positive contribution to the community through its robust Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy.
The venue’s CSR efforts are exemplified by its client Legacy Program, which aligns with the ASM Global ACTS framework, United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and global, national, and local policies and legislation. ICC Sydney’s goal is to leverage the world-class events it hosts to create a lasting social legacy and support clients in achieving their social contribution objectives.
The Director of Corporate Affairs, Communication, and Sustainability at ICC Sydney, Samantha Glass, highlighted the success of the Legacy Program, which has seen 115 activations across 500 events, with 68% involving First Nations businesses or cultural engagement activities. The program empowers event organizers to address major global challenges, engage with local talent, reduce their carbon footprint, and create inclusive and accessible events.
ICC Sydney’s Senior Manager of Business Development, Gabriella Alberici, expressed the venue’s pleasure in hosting charity clients and showcased their commitment to social impacts, such as reusing edible centrepieces to provide meals for the Mathew Talbot Hostel. ICC Sydney’s initiatives aim to foster a sense of purpose and deepen efforts to make a difference through events, serving as both an economic and social infrastructure in the community.
