Vineet Mishra, the Cluster General Manager of Pullman and Novotel New Delhi Aerocity, sees the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) segment as a vital part of their business and stated that MICE events have been a key pillar for their hotel in Delhi NCR, both before and after the pandemic.
Mishra highlighted that clients are more flexible in working with the hotel, even when availability becomes a challenge. Mishra also noted a shift in how MICE events are planned. In the past, companies would plan MICE events many months in advance. Now, due to changing consumer behavior and the agility of the domestic market, companies are opting for quick turnaround meetings.
During the pandemic, the MICE segment evolved, with a greater focus on hybrid events and technology. While some events still combine physical and virtual elements, the prevalence of pure hybrid events has decreased.
In terms of international MICE bookings, the hotel has received inquiries for events as far in advance as 2026, indicating the long lead time for international events. Mishra believes that India is a competitive location for MICE events, offering cost advantages compared to European, American, and Southeast Asian locations.
In summary, the MICE segment is a crucial part of the hotel’s business, with a focus on agility and hybrid events post-pandemic. Mishra is optimistic about international business and believes that India offers competitive advantages for MICE events.
