Pradeep Shetty, the current President of the Hotel & Restaurant Association of Western India (HRAWI), has been elected as the President of the Federation of Hotel & Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI) during its 67th annual general meeting (AGM). The AGM also elected other members of the managing committee, including Nirav Gandhi as Secretary, K Nagaraju, TS Walia, and Surendra Kumar Jaiswal as Vice Presidents, and DVS Somaraju as Treasurer.
Pradeep Shetty will assume the presidency on January 1, 2024, while other executive committee members will take immediate effect. He emphasized FHRAI’s role as a policy advocacy body for the tourism and hospitality sector and pledged to address issues such as online travel, GST rationalization for restaurants, and creating a favourable environment for tourism growth in India.
The outgoing President, Sudesh Kumar Poddar, will take over as Joint Secretary from January 1, 2024. Amarvir Singh is another Joint Secretary in the executive committee. The AGM was conducted in a cordial atmosphere, and the newly elected team is committed to building a robust association to serve the interests of the hospitality industry in India.
