Sabah is emerging as a highly sought-after sustainable Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) tourism destination due to its commitment to conservation and sustainability. The Sabah Tourism Board’s (STB) Chief Executive Officer, Noredah Othman, emphasized the state’s dedication to conservation as the foundation for its position as a sustainable business event location.
Although Sabah is still in the early stages of developing its business events sector, its commitment to conservation aligns with its sustainable tourism goals. The establishment of the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) has expanded the state’s capacity to host impactful business events.
Noredah spoke about Sabah’s sustainability efforts at the PATA Forum, held in conjunction with the PATA Travel Mart in New Delhi. Sabah aims to conduct business events sustainably, drawing inspiration from renowned MICE destinations such as Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok.
