The South Africa National Convention Bureau (SANCB) has submitted 95 bids to host international and regional business events in South Africa until 2029. Of these, 40 bids have already been successfully secured for the 2022/23 financial year.
The successful bids are expected to contribute R338 million to the national economy by 2025 and attract 16,505 international and regional delegates. These conferences aim to distribute business events across various regions, including Johannesburg, Tshwane, Hammanskraal, Cape Town, Bloemfontein, Durban, Mokgopong, Muldersdrift, and Pietermaritzburg.
The SANCB has invested R19.2 million in bid submissions through its bid support program, aligning with the National Government’s development priorities.
