Thailand’s Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) is strategically repositioning the country as a high-value MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions) destination to cater to evolving client demands and the demands of a new generation of MICE visitors. This shift is driven by insights from the MICE Foresight study, which identified future-oriented opportunities and authentic experiences as key buying criteria.
TCEB President Chiruit Isarangkun Na Ayuthaya explained that their holistic vision is aimed at making Thailand a high-value-added destination that contributes to the personal, professional, and business growth of its clients. TCEB is leveraging its expertise in promoting MICE cities and partnering with the Office of the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), which oversees strategic industrial sectors in Thailand, to implement several initiatives:
- Promoting Pattaya as the EEC Business Hub: TCEB is organizing events like the EEC Cluster Fair to attract investment in robotics and automation in Thailand, further highlighting this with the upcoming EEC Expo 2025 in Pattaya, focusing on the EEC’s 12 strategic industries.
- Promoting Gastronomy in Phuket: Building on Phuket’s UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy status, TCEB is enhancing the fine-dining experience in the region with initiatives like “Food for Faith,” inspired by the island’s Vegetarian Festival.
- Promoting Chiang Mai’s Coffee and Tea: Partnering with Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai, TCEB is creating an immersive coffee-and-tea route for MICE visitors to explore the region’s coffee and tea plantations and production.
