ICC Wales has released a report titled “Event Power: A Force for Good,” which examines the wide-ranging benefits of face-to-face meetings and events. The report goes beyond the conventional measures of event impact, such as economic value and job creation, and highlights the positive effects events have on communities, supply chains, sustainability, and future development. It emphasizes that events support a destination’s visitor economy, boost trade and inward investment, create jobs, champion local suppliers, and leave lasting legacies.
Additionally, events contribute to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals by promoting sustainable travel options and minimizing environmental footprints. The report also underscores the role of events in fostering meaningful connections, knowledge sharing, cultural awareness, and future tourism and trade opportunities. Forewords from prominent figures, including Rt. Hon. Theresa Villiers MP and Chris Skeith OBE, accompany the report, which was launched at The Meetings Show 2023 in London.
